Today I want to show you one of my favorite trap artists. He’s not properly a “new talent”, but it may be a discovery for you guys, since I rarely review trap.
JayKode from Los Angeles just dropped one of his masterpieces, “Wasted”.
Featuring a magnificent vocal from Marco Foster, the song is extremely interesting. The main genre is trap, but if you are expecting something predictable, you are totally wrong. This is JayKode, sirs.
His drops have an unreal energy, they are unique and with a perfect balance between aggressiveness and emotions.
I have some problems in picking my favorite part of “Wasted” because everything is great, but I will make sure to mention the perfect work of Marco Foster. I don’t know this singer, but I felt in love with his voice. Perfect.
The break, thanks to those two talents, is amazing. The intro is chilly and melancholic, with a stunning guitar riff, and it slowly increases the hype until the drop comes. I must, and trust me, I MUST underline how the vocal is synced with the kicks during the buildup. Wow.
Then, JayKode shows his best. The drop is a concentrate of different emotions: for one second is future bass, then it switches to trap, the to dubstep. It won’t make you bored, I’m sure. I particularly loved the vocal chopped melody and the aggressive trap saws, surprising and creative.
In the end, “Wasted” is a crazy song. Alternating moments of relax to aggressive charges, the tune perfectly balanced the atmosphere with different peaks of energy. That’s the trap I would like to see around, creative and interesting.
I was already convinced about JayKode talent, but Marco Foster is an interesting discovery, I hope to hear new music from him soon too!
