• Dirty future house vibes
• Perfect combination between genres
• Non-stop rhythm, lack of monotonality
If anyone remembers my fortunate happenstance with “Feel Blue’ by Lamliki, today’s feature is also made possible because of Spotify’s algorithm. It showed me the latest release from the 3rd Prototype on NCS. This duo, who has been advancing in the scene rapidly with his quality discography, has also performed his sets in esteemed gaming platforms such as Minecraft.
There is a compelling mixture at play here, with the mentioned artist taking various influences of aggressive and grittier Future House sounds, Bass House elements and wait for it.. a Big Room inspired segment?! Probably perhaps I am mislabelling it with my imagination to blame, but obviously the loudly operating melody can be a staple reference of the named genre. Here, 3rd Prototype took advantage of the vocals and played adeptly to provide great results. This makes the build-up more interesting to listen, providing the drop with plenty of energy.
Upon reaching the drop segment, there was a certain connection in the arrangements which made me reminisce of Curbi’s signature style, including huge synths (akin to “Alcoholic” with Hasse de Moor) fitted with a vicious hook. The bass segment adds further points to this composition, making it danceable and to my surprise, without being too repetitive and unnecessarily monolithic.
Except for my favourite of the month, “I’m Fine” came as a wonderful revelation for me, especially since there were loads of generic releases in styles I prefer. Absolutely worth-mentioning, with the amusing fact that this song is sure to become a streamer’s choice with it being totally copyright-free!
