We often criticize Spotify and Apple Music for the dominant role they have played in the EDM Community, rewriting the rules and the habits of artists and listeners, but let’s be honest: Streaming Services are so convenient! A few dollars every month and we have access to billions of musical productions in our smartphones, or any device, wherever and whenever we want.
In the world ruled by the godly algorithms (and relationships with certain curators), playlists are a subcategory that provides the users, everyday, many interesting tunes ready to be discovered and enjoyed. We aren’t talking about the “Daily Mixes” (run by algorithms), but the ones managed by curators such as “The Mint”.
For me, when I’m working out, I prefer listening to “Beast Mode“, where some EDM bangers are carefully aligned alongside with a lot of pumping hip-hop, while the completely contrasting “Nature Sound” is a must-listen during working time for enhancing my concentration.
