If you were happening save a few bucks and buy a brand new DJing equipment and headline that imaginary festival of yours, that will have to wait some time. Supplies have increased in retail prices due to current global situation, and might continue well over the next coming months.
This hasn’t happened only to this particular industry, as electronics have woefully risen in cost due to shortages in, well, everything. Starting from the semiconductors to labour scarcities with increased overseas freight charges (with import/export tariffs), all sorts of items are being sold at a doubled and tripled rate than before. Add with that, the slower than ever rate of easing restrictions over the world has thwarted various live events, and thus the lower production rate.
Leading audio brand Pioneer has already raised prices on their gears by 2-4%, while facing an already severe out of stock problem which might worsen over the approaching holiday season.
