• Magical essence for the entire duration, thanks to the lead synths
• Underdeveloped and puzzling vocal
• Quality release with an intriguing melody
LGHTR is a stable member in my personal playlist, thanks to the quality Dark Progressive that, most of the time, amazes and provides thrills unfailingly. I’ve spoken about him in the past while reviewing releases such as “Hawk Eye” and “51“: I enjoy his dark vibes!
“Afterlife” is his latest offering, and I must agree that the title’s choice is clever. The vibe is ethereal, spiritualistic, the Polish creator has worked adeptly on the elements. The recipe has a catchy personality, and positive experience is rendered. I am particularly fascinated by the unusual vocal loop used in a section (but mysteriously half-baked, since we hear it for a few seconds only). On the other hand, the main lead is the protagonist of “Afterlife” for almost the entire duration. The listener is captured by its emblematic essence. As said, there is a constant feeling of “mystical”, thus the well-picked epithet for this production.
A nice, concluding detail embedded is the vigorous Hardstyle kick before the last drop, a very enjoyable surprise!
Overall, I believe that this weapon by LGHTR deserves a mention for its interesting blueprint, and being honest, the hook that immediately captured my attention. Dark Progressive is often underrated, but noteworthy releases like “Afterlife” can help altering the situation.
