It is our obligation to say that D-Block & S-te-Fan is possibly, for us, the most competent duo of the hardstyle scene, with Da Tweekaz. Many of their works uphold a mythical tone, especially “The Clock“, made in collaboration with Sub Zero Project. As many have probably noticed, we can discern something strange when observing their new cover and the label… Surprisingly, they have put D-Block & S-te-Fan instead of DBSTF (their “Big Room-oriented” alias), something strange when in fact it has been released on Rave Culture, the label created by W&W. Remember, DBSTF had released Big Room numbers before on the former Mainstage Music.
Hardstyle and this veteran duo are in one of their best moments… Now the question remains: is this instrumental equally potent?
“Love On Fire” commences typically with an appreciable atmosphere, alongside a minimalistic melody and powerful vocal. Fitting like a glove with the ambience, it becomes a bit too repetitive in the long run. When we hear the first clap, the riser starts growing up, with the mood intensifying and preparing for the drop.
Guess what? It has a satisfying Hard-psy drop, mixing in euphoric-ness and danceability in a precise nature, sure to content the listener! I fell in love with it. The second part of the drop remains simpler, without losing any steam. A perfect tool for the festival season!
If you´re not satisfied enough, there is a third drop; a bit similar to the second one, but with more stamina, aiming to make the people crazy in the dancefloor. Whle listening to I had a moment of absolute pleasure.
“Love On Fire” has been made keeping live performances in mind. In my opinion, it could easily end up as a frontliner for the Hard festival season this summer. Great job, DBSTF!
