STVW‌ x ‌‌‌‌HackeDJackerz – Temple

March 18, 20202 min read

• As expected, tribal and idiomatic breakdown
• Bouncy drop, STVW‌ style
• Excellent job in the atmosphere construction

It has been a while since I’ve spoken about the German talent STVW (having releases on Spinnin’, Revealed, and various other labels), but the Big Room veteran is back on Nik Cooper with a very interesting and idiosyncratic collaboration!‌ “Temple”, a team-up with the Indian duo HackeDJackerz, left me with many positive and cheery vibes.

It’s a groove-laden construction that, as the title suggests, adds to the formula exotic and mysterious elements. HackeDJackers, as any artist from Asiatic countries, added their stamp in the breakdown, which features a captivating melody performed by an ethnic guitar-like instrument. It’s that classic touch we often hear on Dharma, with a pinch of aggressiveness alongside a couple of samples and an adept percussion system (trap-influenced)… The trio experimented, crafting something rather refreshing!

After that satisfying segment, the drop definitively convinced me!‌ STVW‌ showed off his rhythmic structure, bringing the already dynamic hook on another level!‌ “Temple” gets a surplus amount of stamina and vigour in there. I particularly liked how the main melody shifts from a complex pattern into a more minimal, energetic one when necessary.

In conclusion, “Temple” is a nice little gem that has some great things to offer:‌ a peculiar breakdown and a very catchy drop!‌ The experience of STVW‌ worked well with HackeDJackerz’ ethnic vibes. Do not miss this one out.
