• A combination of Progressive and Electro house
• Emotional vibes with energetic elements
• Slightly suffering from the lack of a vocal
Today I want to introduce you Swedz and their brand new EP “Eternity“. The two Swedish members were in the same school and after a few successful collaborations decided to unite their efforts and created the group. They picked this stage name as an honor to their country, and I must admit that their style is extremely “Swedish”, but still has originality.
We are talking about our dear beloved progressive house, but with a pinch of electro house elements that make everything unpredictable. It’s a balanced formula, extremely rare to be found around… Most of such hybrids are lopsided. “Lights” presents the best example of Swedz style, in my opinion, with a mysterious, intense breakdown that slowly escalates into a powerful yet melodic drop. If I can make a comparison, it reminds me of “Sirene” by Blinders, one of my favorite classics… But more emotional. The other three tracks present a similar idea, but “Endless” is more “classically progressive”, while “Eternity” and “Delta” are more Electro house oriented. “Lights” is in the middle, and I liked how Swedz combined their two different approaches. The lack of a vocal slightly disheartened me. It could have been an excellent addition to the structure.
So, this duo has dropped a delightful EP, and I suggest checking it out. There is more potential in them to flaunt, but Swedz are surely capable of impressing us in the future. I’d keep an eye on them if I were you.
