Amalgamation of Rock-EDM has always been an efficient but rare craft in the music scene. Various artists have employed the best of their mettle trying to unify two extremely different ends of the spectrum, for example the endeared joint effort between Skrillex and Korn. Many more heavyweights such as Rezz and Kayzo have been experimenting, bringing forth the nostalgic and punk-style rock amidst the modernized Dance tracks.

This kind of hybrid is far from our usual selections, but as it requires, it’s always a pleasure to experiment and present new genres and styles here! GOMAD! & MONSTER are a Spanish group who particularly impressed us with their captivating style. They have released an album at the end of the last year, and we picked our favorite song from it: “Perkele“.

The vocal of Julia Marks is a hypnotic essence, adding further aggressiveness over a Rock base… It’s easily discernible along with the Electro house bass-synths, which adds a refreshing vibe to “Perkele”. There isn’t separate Dubstep influences, the trio mostly utilised growls and electronic basslines. It would be hard to sketch their specific sound with words, and hence drawing a parallel with their preceding works would provide better comprehension.

Concluding, GOMAD! & MONSTER and Julia Marks delivered an entertaining brainchild that fascinated us with its roaring personality. It’s a creative approach and it must be applauded, at least from our perspective.
