A Few Thoughts on Hardwell’s Comeback

October 22, 20212 min read

Today we are here for a brief reflection at Hardwell’s appearance during the last Revealed ADE event. I wasn’t expecting that, and was pleasantly surprised by the following 20 minutes long B2B event. A bunch of my favourite artists (Blasterjaxx, KAAZE, Dr. Phunk, Blackcode and more) had much fun together with the fans.

Sure, Hardwell being there is the crux of this article, but let’s not forget the entertainment that ensued. Mixing in classics like “Triplet” or the “Fifteen” mash-up, “Yeah” by Usher and tons of hardstyle remixes, it even included Breda born and raised veteran’s childhood favourite like “We zijn er niet bij” (Viva Hollandia). It was a fantastic time that surely left the attendees mesmerised.

The Revealed head-honcho was evidently happier than ever to be back, and I loved that. He seemed genuinely happy and that’s what most important. He kept saying positive affirmations such as “I’ll be back” and “I miss you guys”.

Despite all this, I doubt that he will break his hiatus altogether and return to a fully active career soon. Playing 300 and more shows a year, constantly releasing music and other management decisions is a stressful job and completely different from joining a friendly and casual B2B. Even if many people will disagree with me here, I would rather prefer him headlining in fewer events, but carrying the same lighthearted and passionate attitude from that night. The unpredictable schedule from the former number one has bought us amusing outcomes such as the “Bootshaus ID” and a nostalgic mixtape, so let him enjoy his personal life. He will probably be back soon, partially, on his own accord.
