LORE – Your Way

March 27, 20213 min read

• Bass House drop with Liquid Trap and Hard Trap twists
• Brutal, experimental creation with an insane amount of stamina
• Very “out-of-the-box”; handle with care!

LORE is an enigmatic name who has been under our radar for a long time. His music is mostly uploaded to SoundCloud, while three from his offering catalogue are also available on Spotify. Apart from that, he has shown dexterity by indulging in genres such as Lo-Fi, Synthwave and Ambient music. In this process, he also operates within the glitch-heavy realms of Dubstep and Bass House. A well-performed demonstration for this endeavour is the explosive dynamite titled “Your Way”, crafted by the mentioned artist.

Ah where should I start… well this production immediately sets high standards with its brutal structure, featuring a troupe of lasers shots prancing along with Bass House arrangements. Complex drum-sets, precisely placed one-shots, a dynamic presentation that keeps striking hard without losing pace. The drop fires on all cylinders on energizing itself, and guarantees to hit the listener with strongest impact.

This exaggerated dose of aggressiveness may act as a double-edged sword for someone, but I enjoyed it on my accord. If someone is searching for that noisy club-weapon with creative sound capable to deliver high-levels of stamina, then “Your Way” is the ideal course to select in the first place.

And, did I mention the surprise Liquid Trap plot-twist? Out of the blue, LORE decides to switch the schematics and introduce a further layer of elements, concluding the preceding sequence on an even more experimental phase.

All this complexity however gets balanced during the breakdown, which is nigh absent: just a long build-up with a vocal loop, waiting for the final drop, where the Trap part becomes even more distorted.. almost Hard Trap-ish with a radical hook that I struggled to follow with attention, while the bassline walks on the fine line between perfection and a messy cacophony.

LORE played with fire, daring to explore and stretch the boundaries of Bass House with Liquid/Hard Trap hybrid that brings forth every tool possible to entertain and hype the audience. A experiment worth listening throughout!
