• Latino Hard-Bounce, another bizarre idea

Mashd N Kutcher is not a usual name to begin, and, as you may expect, this Australian duo is absolutely unpredictable. This time they have collaborated and brainstormed with the connotational veteran, Reece Low, creating “Fiesta!”.
Low doesn’t need much of an introduction: together with Will Sparks and Timmy Trumpet, he’s one of the most significant personalities in the genre of Melbourne Bounce. Mashd N Kutcher, instead, based the early segment of their career on funny sketches and “meme-ing” various contemporary EDM clichés. I always appreciated their satirical approach, which mixes impressive technical abilities executed with entertaining ideas. Lately, they have been more aggressive, such as in their Hardstyle synergy “More Fire” with another veteran, Ben Nicky.
Along with the aforementioned eminence, the triad decided to revive the almost defunct Deorro’s “Hard-Bounce” style. Considering that “Fiesta!” has clear and unmistakable Mexican influences, there is a slight incomprehension which could grasp the listeners.
However, I preferred their tactics employed in this production. The overall atmosphere is joyful, luminous: it seems like hearing an “exaggerated Deorro”, laden with Latino samples, including trumpet, whistles, gibberish vocals that constantly create a mare’s nest of an instrumental. I particularly was appealed by the breakdown: extremely spry, with quick vocal shots playing around with the ethnic base. It’s the kind of song that sets a dance-floor in frenzy, making you suddenly want to commit some insensible tomfoolery. I was anticipating something like that from Mashd N Kutcher, but not in a Latino salsa.
I have the feeling that the Australian triplet is parodying Deorro in a subtle way, but their Hard-Bounce is straight fire. “Fiesta!” will host an uproarious but delectable party in your earphones, trust me!
