• An amalgamation of styles palatably
• Robust presence of Ethnic components
• A missed potential at an idiosyncratic breakdown
“GURU” is a pleasant, unforeseen surprise. A capable team of seven people poured their efforts and mettle on this: dynamic triad Marnage, the trio Maski & Banga and NAEMS. All of them are stable and reputed personas in Revealed.dj, with many positive and appreciatively worded releases, including “Persia” and “Anymore“.
Marnage delivered intriguing Hardstyle ingredients with a hint of “Tribal Room” signature, but the result is undeniably splendid! “GURU” has a recognizable middle-eastern atmosphere, a Maski & Banga ethnic loop, distorted to the right measures along with a phenomenal low-end arrangement! Speaking about the loop, I simply preferred how the super-group re-worked it in a shape-shifting composition, with sudden warping and glitch-ing adding more dynamism to “GURU”. The bassline, in addition, dances around various elements, infusing its essence into the song. Talking about variations, there is also section assisting a Trap beat, appearing in the last part to embed catchy alterations on the platter!
The breakdown concedes to be inadequately predictable, unfortunately, with an ethnic lead playing the appealing melody. The artists somehow missed a window to append something unique and outright distinctive in there… Thus its personality retracts from getting fully-fledged, in my humble opinion.
“GURU” is a delectable synergy where the creators involved did their requisite job passionately, did not hesitate in mixing their ideas and creating an Electro House instrumental that brings freshness and well-crafted vibes. There is a chaotic feeling while listening to it, as likely when so many people worked altogether, but my experience has been highly positive and satisfying with this specific record. I’m so glad that Revealed.dj is clustering and bundling various global talents altogether!
