Among many other popular sayings, “History repeats itself” is one which finds its way significantly present in contemporary times, especially art and music. Today we will be speaking of one such example, from none other than the acclaimed Russian House DJ/Producer Madison Mars. Christening his latest craft as “New Vibe Who Dis”, the concoction of vintage elements and distinctive schematics makes an altogether unusual yet refreshing sensation on the ears!
Keeping himself equally engaged in the studio, Madison Mars has unveiled over eight original singles already. While “Quantity over Quality” approach has been taken by many revenue-focused artists, the prior-mentioned creator has not yielded to the prosaic modus. His preceding production “Avalon”, which revealed in Dutch imprint of Spinnin’ Records last month, the instrumental contained femme vocals assisted by the sublime atmosphere. Furthermore, the drop segment delivers the signature Future House sound, laden with unexpected variances in the arrangement.
Turning our attention to our subject, we instantly recognised the sweet yet nostalgic Funk/Disco inspired sound in the essence of the work. To add more “human” touch, vocalist Little League embeds his appealing voice in the breakdown. However, the “cherry on the cake” materializes with the leading section, which introduces the chiming (and familiar) drop synths. Amidst the classic backdrop settings, the synths include modernity, and hence enhancing the groove. Certainly a creative and ear-candy cadence for the auditory senses!
In summary, “New Vibe Who Dis” strives to present a pleasant experimentation, sugar-coated with the endeared vibes from the bygone prime era.
