• Sublime and energetic structure
• Energetic intro
• Atmospheric hook
The first Friday of this month brought along multitudes of releases from various artists. However, this time, our attention has been caught by the newest release from leading Australian talent Marcus Santoro, who has placed himself in the forefront of Progressive and melodic dance music. This time he has unveiled his latest craft “Memento” on Flashover Recordings, which efficacious-ly blends dynamism and energetic rhythm with uplifting melodies.
We lasted talked about the Melbourne native when he remixed Dutch luminary Nicky Romero’s delectable single “My Way”, published in Protocol’s Miami EP.
After this sublime work, he further delivered two more atmospheric tracks in Enhanced. Following that, he gave his own twist to the eminent Ferry Corsten’s enticing summer hit “Freefall”.
Now, talking about the instrumental, as we mentioned, from the beginning, “Memento” keeps a constant elevating tone. Starting with the expected introductory drop segment, featuring riffing and offbeat bass-synths, the song then proceeds to a piano-centered breakdown. With a graceful and swift effort, the climactic segment hits with pulsating bassline and plucky synths. Once again, the melody hook works wonders for incrementing a delightful vibe. The next section of the drop changes its intensity by switching the synths, giving more emphasis to the leading synths, fading away to the outro efficiently.
In summary, “Memento” justifies its title, giving the listener a pleasurable and indelible impression with its dynamism!
