Charles B & VCTRY – Funky Sound

April 29, 20192 min read

• Catchy and vibrant
• House & Funk elements
• Hooking vocal snippets

Renowned up and coming French artists Charles B and VCTRY have teamed up yet again, but this time unveiling their latest record on leading label of Hexagon Recordings. Titled as “Funky Sound”, this is certainly an achievement for the dynamic pair after successful releases on Protocol & Guru Recordings. They have unveiled further without much of a hiatus, after their latest record “Bring It Back” on Nicky Romero’s imprint, which was part of Miami EP 2019.

This duo has kept themselves active in the scene for quite some time now, since their first team-up. Especially known for their memorable joint-effort with reputable Tom Tyger, named as “One Too Many“. This production maintained an innovative rhythm, along with vocal elements to energize the schematics. The resulting sublime vibe made the song much appreciated and supported.

Now talking about today’s single, as mentioned from the title, it follows a plain and equally engaging tone at the same time. It also got featured by the luminary Don Diablo, when he played it in his Ministry of Sound gig a few months back. The production is embedded with a melodic drop segment, made vigorous by the distorted and shuffling bassline. This is then followed by a splendid breakdown, which then revolves around a tantalizing vocal hook along with a chiming synth sound. Just to say in simple words, the right proportions of House and Funk elements make the arrangements even better!

To sum up, “Funky Sound” justifies its title, right from the very first seconds of playback. Props to the creative duology for making yet another efficacious record!
