• Simplistic but effective
• Stabbing bassline
• Percussion and groovy elements
Two of the music’s biggest veterans in the scene, David Guetta and Nicky Romero, have teamed up with a resounding production for festival. Titled as “Ring The Alarm“, this is the sequel to the renowned “Metropolis” which acclaimed itself as a mega-hit over six years of its release.
As expected with any significant collaboration, Protocol has released several creative retakes from different reputed artists. The list contains Charmes, Sam Void, StadiumX and more, providing an all-round remix package for the energetic single.
The Italian Duo Maximals have remixed “Ring The Alarm” as well, working around a simple but effective structure. After their latest team-up on Protocol with fellow native artist Boothed, the duology have proven their mettle in the industry efficiently.
The alluring point about this particular song is its unique sound, with a fresh and simple rhythm. Starting with the breakdown segment, the slow and building up tone has the original vocal repeating along with it. The drop segment introduces itself with an energetic and groovy approach, using distorted bassline stabs and a club-y house schematic to cleverly embed the stamina requisite. Even if minimal, this section makes up quite well and delivers a distinctive twist to the overall sound from the original.
To say in a few words, this rework from Maximals is clearly impressive, and is certainly is going to be a party-starter for many upcoming gigs!
