Tom & Jame, Bad Nelson – Warrior

April 14, 20192 min read

• Enjoyable and entertaining melody
• Classic Electro house structure
• Minimal reggaeish vocal

“Warrior” is the new self-released collaboration between the Dutch duo Tom & Jame and Swiss Bad Nelson. Tom & Jame have demonstrated their skills time & again with successful releases on Revealed, Spinnin’ Records and Wall. Their signature style is a sparkling Electro house formula, easy to recognize and easy to shape in different structures.

I like the fact that every song from them is different, but their style is always noticeable. “Warrior” is no exception, which follows a classic structure with the spicy aggressiveness of Bad Nelson. This producer is somewhat underrated but has already caught some attention with excellent releases on Metanoia and Press Play recordings. Both Electro house styles work well together, and I loved the dynamism and the energy that the composition liberates.

The melody is one of the most entertaining pieces I’ve heard from the artists and the point of strength of this little gem. There is a vocal, scarcely utilized, looping around in the breakdown and parts of the drop. I’m a bit tired of those reggaeish loops, but I must admit that it adds a certain catchiness to the output. They didn’t exaggerate its use, luckily.

In the end, “Warrior” is fun to hear, it’s an excellent EDM release, and shows the best from both artists. It doesn’t risk with new vibes (as heard in “Amigo” on March) but does its job. It is highly recommended if you are looking for an entertaining creation.

Funny fact: Tom & Jame made another collab called “Warrior” 6 years ago, with Tobin Riccio. Don’t confuse the two different tracks!
