• Quality tune with commonplace schematics
• Emotional and energetic vocal
• Noticeable influences from Matisse & Sadko
As the Spanish electronic artists are rising in number holistically, their genres of preference seems to favour both Future and Progressive domains of House music, gaining expertise from similarities they brought from top artists. “Something”, today’s selection, is made by native acts Da Rek and Boix & Breakloop, and is a tune with standard arrangements carrying its own soul.
Uncredited vocalist made a memorable work with a catchy presence and a lovely theme in its lyricism, accompanied by the typical structure used in this genre, finishing with a solid first part that doesn’t innovate and sticks to the same formula. This can be a plus for many, as it is crowd-pleasing.
The build-up equips huge snares that follows a Big Room sense of fashion, yet with a twist in the drop with robust kicks and an energetic riff reminiscent of Matisse & Sadko, but with its own personality. It is effective in grabbing attention, as the trio uplifts the atmosphere with a spectacular drop sequence.
Depending on your taste palette, you may find the vocal repetitive or it could slip one’s mind that they used the same part for the later portions. Hence the risk factor taken on this wasn’t high, and they decided to craft that would acquire support quickly with its time-tested ingredients that most people like.
“Something” is in no ways a groundbreaking outcome in this particular festival genre and thus closely follows the trend, yet it shows elegance with a lot of potential! A solid experience, it gives me further faith to talk about this sort of Dance music, more than ever.
