The first Friday is a witness to another release by a significant act in the industry. Known for delivering pumping and vibrant productions to the audience, it is none other than the talented Australian native Dave Winnel. While well-known for his house tracks, he has yet again blurred genre lines along with his signature sounds. Today we will be talking about his latest instrumental “Lily Of The Valley”, unveiled in the top-notch sub-label of Armada, Armind.

Juggling between groovy Tech House works and subtle Deep house productions, Dave Winnel provided a variety of songs (and remixes) throughout the last year. While his last release is a catchy house single, featuring the singer “Eskayi“. Along with the charming and enticing vocal, the slick and distinctive synth sound instantly captures attention. Also, it would be worth mentioning the intense collaboration between him and the Dutch luminary Armin Van Buuren. Released in Armind, “The Race” was a solid and creative amalgam of the expected sounds from the creators. It certainly shares similarity with this discussed record as well.

The immediate impression of this song is the atmospheric yet progressive tone. It may remind some fans and listeners about DeadMau5’s arrangements, however the off-beat rhythm adds another layer of vigour. Starting with a chiming Arp coming into existence, the drop smoothly takes over. The breakdown brims with even more sumptuous and encompassing pad and strings. Adding to that is the other section, the drop, which utilizes between the brute bouncy bassline and the main lead synth line. Simplistic schematic, however effective throughout the playback!

To sum up, “Lily Of The Valley” proves Dave Winnel’s dexterity in combining different elements along with a refreshing cadence!
