Legna Zeg – Black & White (ft. Nekro G)

March 5, 20192 min read

• Trap production rich of surprises
• Three drops
• Elegant yet dark breakdown

“Black & White” is such a shoehorn title... The new Magic Records release, produced by Legna Zeg and Nekro G, gave me that “love or hate” feeling. You might like their trap composition, or heavily dislike it for its various unpredictable elements, but it will surely surprise you.

I liked “Black & White”, and I’m here explaining why. First, if you put orchestral elements in a song you will quickly get my attention (take note producers), and, more importantly, it’s a distillate of creativity. It lasts almost 4 minutes, with three drops and a long, elegant yet dark, thanks to the aggressive vocal – breakdown section. I was expecting a classic trap drop with the same strings, but instead, we have a unique structure. I was almost speechless, the transition was harsh, but it was a pleasant surprise! A mysterious vocal loop accompanies a slow, hypnotic base. It’s extremely difficult to describe its ethereal and mysterious aura.

Then, the second drop surprised me again, after another elegant buildup section. More big room influenced (Tsunami-inspired leads), brutal and unexpected. The icing on the cake is the third drop: I was expecting an even more aggressive section, because of the sudden distorted buildup, but I got the same initial structure.

The Paraguayan producer and the American rapper got me. “Black & White” is a unique song, with lots of experimentation and, for me, bravery and courage that I must reward with a high rating. I was left impressed; I hope it’s the same for you!
