Blaze U – I Wanted You

March 2, 20192 min read

• Sweet, delicate, calm
• Different vocals, used in an intelligent way
• Creative and unexpected experiment

Blaze U is a lovely name we’ve already introduced in the past, and today he impressed me yet again! His specialty is the somewhat active version of future bounce, so it was quite a surprise hearing more relaxing and introverted sounds in “I Wanted You“. The label is, the intriguing Panther’s Groove, always looking for creative releases and they found a good one.

So, Blaze U. With that mask, I always think I’m looking at Alan Walker… Jokes apart, he’s one of the names to watch out in the (at the moment) stagnant future house panorama, with no significant breakouts since months. I like his music, even though I think that it’s a style that hasn’t fully developed yet, without a clear and unique “signature”. With “I Wanted You”, he introduced a calmer side of his style that I hope he shall keep experimenting with!

A robotic vocal in the background, sweet and chilly, immediately welcomes the listener. Elegant chords and a calm, yet catchy, piano melody gradually introduces itself to the drop. That part is fantastic, in my opinion, because Blaze U experimented with his sound with courage and intelligence. Two vocals sing in the background, while a groovy yet delicate bassline does its job. Midtempo structure with a certain Electro house influence and a unique elegance, it was a pleasure listening to it!

Nice, nice, nice tune! I’m sure that this particular concept can evolve into something even better, but at the moment I must suggest “I Wanted U”, specially if you want to enjoy a calmer EDM tune than usual.
