Today we will be talking about Dutch mega-label Revealed Recordings, as their new ADE sampler has been released over the course of few days. This review will be a short overview over each of the instrumentals, in order to avoid complexity of this article, and it will be split in two parts, with 5 songs each. Final conclusions about the selection can be found in part 2.
Starting with “Cairo” by Steven Vegas feat. Bass & Beard, the new collaboration seems to lack certain aspects. While it has the energetic tribal theme, the production slacks on experiments. Utilising the familiar screeching synths riffing with shuffling toms and other percs, the breakdown brings along an Arabic themed melody as the hook element.
The biggest pro for “Nova” by ANG and D3FAI is its quirky drop segment, which features hulking acid synths in alternate with the electro ones. A fresh rhythm, yet the overall record cut corners.
Luckily, Notalike and Dirty Ducks delighted us with the 100% Italian “I Can’t Take It”. It resonates with bouncy basslines with vigorous twirling drop synths, including a delectable breakdown for the finish!
A good decision by the label for selecting this, and huge props to the producers involved.
Then, “Konichiwa” dissipates energy as expected. The drop created by 22 Bullets and Goldfish & Blink throws a slight similarity with a year old release by GMAXX and D3FAI named “S. W. A. T.”, but this strange resemblance didn’t take away from what the song offered! Presents ethnic appreciable vibes.
In conclusion, “Attack” by Kill The Buzz and Loris Cimino experiments with chiming synths and animated bassline synths, providing an experience altogether different. Further, equipped with energetic rapping vox, this release certainly differs in its own ways.
