• Too similar to other SI releases
• Fantastic vocal performance
• Energetic and happy drop

“Symphony” is a gorgeous song, even if it’s extremely similar to an old Sick Individuals release, “Writing On The Wall“. “Similar” is a euphemism, by the way… They present a lot of equivalent elements, the melody in particular.

This detail ruined a bit our personal experience with the new Revealed release: the feeling of deja-vu was too strong. Speaking about “Symphony” on a musical level, this progressive tune remains enjoyable and solidly entertaining. Sick Individuals, even if they are specialized on aggressive electro house (with signature percussions, slower melodies and groovy basslines), sometimes deliver little gems like this one. Other examples, apart from the already cited songs, are “Lost And Found” and “Never Say Never“.

“Symphony” uses this experienced formula once again.

The most interesting element is, in fact, the awesome vocal by Nevve. The American singer (present in the masterpiece “Fractures”, produced by Illenium) added an impressive quality to the breakdown, helped by a crazy vocal editing and elegant chords. By the way, Nevve is actually made of three people: a singer and two producers, even if her/their figure is extremely mysterious, with no detailed info about it. Anyway, her passionate and hypnotic performance amazed us. Great choice by the Dutch duo!

The breakdown shows a typical Sick Individuals vibrant energy (never disappointing), and quickly brings us to a great bouncy drop. Even if the melody is not really creative, and it may sound annoying to some fans that already know their other songs, we found it catchy enough to entertain.

In the end, “Symphony” may be a good tune depending on your tastes and experience with Sick Individuals music. For us, it’s too similar to other releases of the duo, but with the addition of a gorgeous vocal. The quality level remains high, though we hope to hear something new in the future.
