Maxximize needs people like Declain on its roster. People capable to bring fresh ideas on the platter, whilst still maintaining the signature style of the label.
The German talent is not a new name to old fans of EDM Reviewer. In fact, we reviewed a couple of his bootlegs many months ago, and we were already impressed by his skills. His style is very energetic and catchy, as you can notice while listening to “EYES SHUT”.
We didn’t really understand the need to use capital letters in the title, but apart from this detail, this Maxximize release rocks. Elle Vee is the vocalist, and after her performances with Wasback and KAAZE, we were expecting another stunning job. We didn’t get disappointed.
Declain supported her voice with a great breakdown. It’s slightly nostalgic, with a dynamic piano playing a frenetic melody, but nonetheless full of good vibes! It goes straight to the point: preparing the listener for a crazy drop and helps Elle Vee in the work! A pinch of trap vibes in the second part even adds a surprise effect to the composition.
The drop is amazing. That’s how dark progressive must be done! The melody is lightweight, but the whole part is powerful and entertaining! We smell some KAAZE influences in the melody and something by Maurice West in the main big room lead, but Declain managed to put his personality into “EYES SHUT”. The overall result, in fact, results in something refreshing and innovative.
That’s a great starting point in the world of major labels for Declain. “EYES SHUT” presents a beautiful vocal, a fresh concept, an enjoyable atmosphere, and a quality production. Congrats!
