Martin Garrix & Justin Mylo – Burn Out (feat. Dewain Whitmore)

• Emotional song
• Good vocals
• Interesting fusion between progressive and future house

People say that good things take time, and the same can be said about this song. After being played a lot of times by Martin on his sets, we can finally enjoy this old ID. And it was totally worth the wait.

“Burn Out” is a tune crafted by Martin Garrix and Justin Mylo, and they managed to create a really cool hybrid of progressive house and future house. The vocalist Dewain Whitmore proved to be a good choice for his part.

The composition starts with a great charming guitar and some emotional pads, and both breaks follow the usual progressive house structure. I really liked the transition before the build up, where the vocal chops start playing, showing us the powerful melody that’d be the protagonist in the drops.

The drop is cool, and what makes it so is the melody, which is elegant and funny at the same time. The sound design was also a big win, I wanted Martin to show that he can actually make cool progressive house drops without using Matisse & Sadko leads, and that’s exactly what he did. The Justin Mylo influence can also be heard in both chords and bass, making this part of the tune interesting and fresh.

I’m glad to see Martin making more progressive, and I’m even happier because this time its not with Matisse & Sadko. In conclusion, “Burn Out” is a cool and enjoyable track. Don’t miss it!
