Eminent Dutch groove specialist Dannic has been evidently industrial this year. The veteran has continued showcasing his adeptness and versatility, and, in fact, he has formulated another hitting electro track, this time teaming up with renowned duo Teamworx. Titled “NRG”, this energetic production takes the best of signature swing and rhythm of this trio.
Initiating 2018 with the minimal yet striking “In No Dip”, Dannic showed an interesting experimental side. Furthermore, the Fonk label head went on to complement his fans with an alluring pop/future bass song “Stay”, along with the talented vocalist INNA. After this two back to back hit tracks, Dannic has finally returned to his groove label Fonk, which lately became a sub-label of the esteemed Spinnin Records. Teamworx have shown no falter either, releasing a vibrant track each month since January. Their latest work “Playin’ Around” with the Italian mega-trio Sunstars, got a release in Dutch label Protocol Recordings.
The particular production shines because of its distinctive peppy characteristics. Heavily inspired by tribal and groove, “NRG” commences with a percussion-laden intro, swirling towards the first breakdown. The following part introduces a slightly ethnic yet exotic melody to engage attention. Played by trumpets/horns, the melody then fades away to the riser, transitioning into the rapid drop. This drop storms in with signature plucky leads, layered with percussion to deliver vivacity. Any long-time Dannic fan is bound to be impressed with this, as it includes and uses the classical electro groove house elements. The drop gives away to another brief riser, stepping into another round of the animated breakdown. This time, the melody gets played along enthusiastic tribal backdrop. Soon enough, the last drop hits with fresh tenacity and power.
With all this said, “NRG” is a delightful and kinetic tune to energize your ears. Both Dannic and Teamworx have certainly clarified that they have lots in store for this eventful year.
It’s not a superlative period for Fonk, but we are glad to see that at least Dannic keeps working and amazing fans with his productions!
