“Someone Like You” is the song that we selected for today’s “Discovery Talents”!
Nathan Jacobs is an awesome American producer, his style has clear influences from Zedd. That’s the primary feeling of the tune: some fresh Zedd vibes, from a different perspective. He tried to be more unpredictable, more creative, to “differentiate” from the superstar, so we are not talking about an absolute imitation.
“Someone Like You” managed well to balance poppish vibes in the break with an electronic and dynamic drop. Kinnie Lane did a great job, with a joyful and hyping vocal, and the base emphasises it. The pauses at the right moments, the powerful buildup, the kick. Every element achieves power and dynamism, until the drop takes the command.
We compared Nathan Jacobs to Zedd because of the lead he used. This slightly acid-lead and signature Zedd elements impart vintage emotions to it, while still sounding refreshing and enjoyable. Playing a catchy and emotional melody, it accompanies the drop making it a creative and powerful structure.
In conclusion, Nathan Jacobs and Kinnie Lane delighted us with a really nice tune. Well produced, creative and we clearly sense the hardwork put behind it. Impossible to miss, especially for Zedd’s fans!
