After successfully hosting three hundred and fifty episodes of his podcast, the Dutch powerhouse artist Hardwell announced seven fantastic singles from him for the following week. The second day of this grand week brings forward the collaboration between the notable Dutch Producer Quintino. Entitled as ‘Woest’, this aggressive production packs in a lot of dynamics and power as it was expected to. That’s exactly what its title suggests: “Woest”, in fact, means “aggressive” in Dutch.
In their previous hit collaboration ‘Baldadig’, Quintino and Hardwell proved that their combination of styles is a relish for all the electro-house fanatics out there. A year later, this follow up release isn’t an exception and solidly delivers major hulking festival vibes.
Keeping a similar schematic, the track kick-starts with a brief breakdown. A pitched down vocal leads it, along with a siren-like synth. The vocal gets looped in the next few seconds as the snare riser materializes, adeptly bringing in the intense and striking drop.
The drop swoops in with immense power, bringing in with it Dutch electro house synths, playing out a rapid riff drop melody. The kick used is a thump-y one and injects the required stamina in the drop. The synths switch, replacing each other in a dynamic way!
The drop ceases immediately to transition into the main breakdown, which transforms the entire tone of the song.
The main and the final breakdown rushes, storing with it a surprise. It changes the relative pitch of the production into a different key… However, it doesn’t complicate anything and rather makes it even more intriguing. Screeching synths play over in this breakdown, without much of a melody, along with the same vocal. “Woest” is a creative thought by those two major artists, as this experimental breakdown does it job precisely. As the final riser comes over, the pitch escalates with efficacy, creating more energy as the final drop impacts robustly.
‘Woest’ sticks to its actual meaning undoubtedly, and this second-day release definitely livens up the hope for the incoming tracks of this week. Tantalizing production from Hardwell and Quintino!
