The first song of the “Hardwell & Friends” EP is a colossal collaboration between Hardwell and Timmy Trumpet. “The Underground” is as expected, a dark and underground song, with big room, bounce and rawstyle influences.
However, as one must expect when we are talking about Timmy Trumpet, the release is frenetic, creative, and unique. Starting from the brutal buildup (composed by a horn and a hyperaggressive construction of drums), the drop smashes the ears of every fan that was expecting something mainstream. Bouncy bassline by Timmy, hardstyle kick, hyperaggressive rawstyle lead, that’s one hell of a drop!
The catchy melody, along with an explosive kick, made the drop so interesting that it almost seems too short. The trap part, in addition, is pretty much the icing on the cake. It may be a bit too “underground” for part of the fans, but the collab is definitely interesting. The break shows an awesome melody by Timmy Trumpet (using a classic bigroom lead) then the buildup begins its attack. Leaving alone the drop for a second (which is incredible), the buildup itself helped very much “The Underground” in creating the right atmosphere. A work of precision and experience!
“The Underground” may become one of the underrated songs of the EP because of its unusual vibes and “underground” style, but ignoring its style is a sin! Frenetic, wild, brutal, the duo did a wonderful work!
