The EDM industry has been notable for famous reboots and re-edits of old productions and revamping it with contemporary sounds. Tujamo, the renowned German electro house producer, reworked the Sidney Sampson’s famous hit ‘Riverside’, which was released back in 2009.
The German artist has adeptly introduced his signature electro sounds to remould the classic into a more aggressive festival tune. ‘Riverside’ has its own history. A beautiful history, being one of the most famous “Dutch house” songs ever! Released first by Gregor Salto and Sidney Sampson’s label imprint ‘ Samsobeats’, it was soon later re-released by the eminent dance music record label Spinnin’ Records. Originally an upbeat and hip-hop inspired production, the track sampled a dialogue of the legendary American rapper 2Pac, from his recognized role in the film ‘Juice’ (1992).
The track further got another trap remix from talented artist Onderkoffer half a decade later, in 2014. Tujamo had totally different plans for this release and decided to inculcate his energetic production style onto this catchy track. Keeping the essentials from the original, like the dirty synth playing out the addictive melody and the sample, Tujamo made it further peppy by adding a kinetic big room drop with classical electro house synths. Simply put, it follows the exact scheme of a general Tujamo drop… But it adeptly redacts the original into a more tantalizing track.
The new melody may sound a bit less catchy than the original one, but Tujamo’s fans will surely love this dynamic rework! Adding a dark trap beat to some classic Tujamo skills, “Riverside (Reloaded)” is both innovative and traditional.
Concluding, it would be fair to say this deft re-work certainly matches up to our expectations! Tujamo’s unique style adds another twist and flavour to a legendary production, and we appreciated it.
