The notable Australian DJ/Producer Will Sparks has once again proved his unique and intense signature sound with an energetic rework of the notorious “Leave The Lights On” by Meiko. This remix adds a dynamic twist to the original and both the vivid vocal and the powerful electro sounds swirl together to account for an impressive production. Being the original an incredibly catchy song, Will Sparks created a literal minimalistic work of art, keeping Meiko’s vibes and adding his unique, creative touch.
The “Leave The Lights On” keep and elegance that it’s unpredictable in an aggressive concept that Melbourne Bounce represents, but we are talking about Will Sparks here! His versatility and creativity are notorious in the scene, and even in this complex case, the Australian mastermind developed another banger.
It’s not a banger for clubs, theoretically, but more an “emotional” rework. The beautiful and relaxing vibes don’t clash with the heavy bounce bassline, but they create together a unique mood. As already heard on “What I Do”, Will experimented with a minimalistic and “dark” style… Creating something extraordinary!
The rework initiates with a razing electro bassline and a delightful vocal coming in. Further along, comes a plucky synth which adds a subtle groove.
The bassline pauses, with the vocal and cinematic strings taking over. The riser steps in without much delay, swiftly building the tension up to the robust drop. Needless to say that the tension has been built perfectly, with silences and minimalism building up a hypnotic rhythm.
The main drop follows the same scheme like the intro, but with a distinct pattern. The electro bass synth keeps a rumbling style, more psytrance and bounce fashioned. Addictive and creative simultaneously!
In a few words, the remix revamps the original to another notch and adeptly supplements to its vigour and peppiness. Will Sparks created a little gem, maybe difficult to understand, but an example of his incredible style. Exploring new worlds, while keeping his personality: that’s Will Sparks, guys!
