Dr Shiver – Brave Love

77/100

Dr. Shiver, who perhaps is best known for his track “Something”, (released on Protocol Recordings a couple of months ago), has released another melodic and catchy song on his own label, Art & Music Recordings. His production, even though is less energetic, and more chill and pop oriented than the last groove house track with David Allen, has emotions and smooth progressions. This release is titled “Brave Love”. “Brave Love” has a solid summer feeling… We can consider it a more tropical and dance oriented tune. With slick guitar gliding along, it also features the subtle and catchy vocal from Jmi Sissoko. It all starts with a guitar strumming, slowly intensifying to introduce the vocal. Then, kick and bassline comes in smoothly, supporting the vocal alongside. The beat subsides to give all the space to the vocal for a brief moment, finally letting a short riser transition to the drop. The drop doesn’t introduce anything much different, with the same elements that came over seconds ago, apart from another synth. The part, in overall, fits the description of a typical summer dance track, but nonetheless attention catching and ear-candy. The drop fades away once again to bring the breakdown, which brings in more emotional vibes than the first one. This brings in strings and pads, making it more atmospheric. But the riser appears in just in time to once again let the vivid drop come back again. In overall, a short summary of all my thoughts about “Brave Love” would be that it follows a more contemporary EDM-pop style production, but nonetheless keeps those summer vibes and emotions in a perfect proportion to make this track quite splendid.
