Just as I was thinking that all the remixes for the song “Symphony” by Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson, which is a major hit of this year, were over, I was proved wrong! Another sweet twist has been given to this hit, a surprising Complextro touch: the result is fantastic, without a doubt. Crafted by Mo Zahzah’s, who hails from Lebanon, this remix certainly needs more exposure.
The track starts with the original vocal acapella, with an arp underneath it, having an instant attention catching feeling right from the intro. Classic electro saws take over in after few seconds and bring over the energy for the incoming drop. The breakdown for me is quite splendid, giving the original vocal the space it needs without stuffing too many elements.
The drop hits with a perfect force and with it brings on the heavily side-chained electro synths with a fast pace groove. A typical complextro groove, but nonetheless goes down perfectly with the breakdown. The drop reminded me of electro tracks that were made way back in 2008-09. In a way, Mo Zahzah has adeptly added some classic features too!
My final verdict would be that this remix is a certainly a one to check since this one stands out in the crowd of remixes released for this track.
