Sometimes, it’s fascinating to hear a subtle combination of old school funk 80’s pop with modern electro sounds. Today I have got to review an example of the above-said kind of track, titled “Different Stars” from the upcoming English vocalist Charley Stride. It’s rare when EDM Reviewer gets to review this type of splendid tracks.
The track leans majorly towards funky 80’s pop, but also has the right amount of hints of contemporary electro-pop.
As you can expect, “Different Stars” has that funk bassline with 80’s electronic synth sounds, finely supporting the luscious vocal from Charley Stride. The production has been done quite exquisitely. To keep a modern tone, there has been a use of vocal chop/shot which plays beside in the backdrop. Overall, it results in making the track even catchier.
It’s good to see upcoming artists embracing the dramatic 80’s pop sound. My opinion is that it was indeed a fine art of electronic music. Take a listen to this track and you won’t be disappointed!
