W&W ft. Vini Vici – Chakra

“Chakra”, the long-awaited collab between Vini Vici and W&W is finally out! Well, since I’ve heard it the first time, I found the “aeeeeeahh” vocal really funny, but I must admit that is the main element of the tune. And, of course, it’s really catchy.

I’m already imagining people shouting “aeeeeah” during lives, even if it seems a sailor chant, not a Tibetan monk chorus. For me, at least. Anyway, I’ve nothing to complain about the vocal: it’s catchy, it’s creative, it’s perfect for this kind of EDM. Approved.

Talking about the instrumental, I appreciated it. Nothing really special in the first part, being honest, (apart from this curious vocal) we just have the Vini Vici signature psy-trance sound, but “Chakra” still manages well to entertain the listener.
How? Well, with a combination of Vini Vici psy-trance and W&W electro house.

Exactly, the song has two parts, one psy-trance and one dirty electro house! I personally liked both of them, the first because of its hypnotic rhythm, and the second for the creativity and its catchiness. It reminds me the good old Nicky Romero of “Toulouse“.

The problem about “Chakra” is that it seemed 100% Vini Vici style, when the first preview came out one month ago. It was, luckily, only the first part. Since the duo from Israel has a really dominant sound, I wasn’t expecting very much by W&W. I was wrong, they worked well and balanced a track with a touch of old-school electro house.
So, even if “Chakra” doesn’t have that “elegant Tibetan monk” atmosphere suggested by the title and the (splendid) cover it’s an amazing song. I like it, it’s one of my favorites of Vini Vici, and I can’t wait to hear it during a live show. I’m sure it will sound even better than that!
