Syzz and ANG are two amazing duos. For Syzz, their collab with KURA ‘Calcutta’ and their two collabs with Ibranovski are good examples of what I call a banger. ANG also released amazing tracks under Maxximize for example, the best one remains ‘Take Me Away’ in my opinion! I really like both’s styles and I never thought a collab between those two names would ever exist, but here it is. “Donut” is an amazing groovy electro track, and the result isn’t disappointing at all.
First, the intro and the breakdown are very enjoyable and unique. They immediately plunge you into the universe of the track and the main synth in it sounds very energetic. And the same goes for the break, which perfectly makes the transition between the breakdown and the first drop.
Second, there’s this incredible drop. I don’t think the synth is very creative, but in fact, it is very catchy and it fits very well with the rest. The best in this drop is the beat, it’s truly addictive.
Those hard-hitting basses combined with the groovy synth is amazing. And sporadically, there’s a short funky synth that appears to give more consistency to the drop.
This first drop is definitely more Syzz’s style for me.
But when the first drop seems to be finished, there’s an awesome bridge that appears. The main synth becomes louder and with a darker sound, which is pretty surprising. Then, there are some very uplifting trap beats that prepare for a trap drop!
This second drop is not as good as the first drop, but nonetheless, it’s more creative. The main synth becomes a bit more aggressive while the basses are less loud than in the first drop. And as soon as time passes by, the main drop’s synth becomes more and more robotic and finally fades away.
Third, there’s the build-up. It’s enormous.
I love how after only a few muffled background noises, the atmosphere of the track becomes way sweeter. As if the darkness stuck inside this track had totally disappeared for a moment. The pace of the track quickly speeds up, and there’s an incredible energy that is delivered with those crazy big room-ish synths, even though the sweetness of the melody has still been preserved. The bassline is totally crazy and energetic, and I feel like this part is a perfect mix between Syzz’s and ANG’s style!
Anyway, after this short moment, comes the second break. It returns to a darker atmosphere which is cool too.
And finally, we got the third drop. Nothing is very different in here, the trap part is just directly linked to the big room drop. That’s why I consider it only as one drop, whereas in the first part there was a real border between the first groovy big room drop and the second darker trap drop.
To conclude, I really suggest checking “Donut”, I’m pretty sure you won’t be disappointed. It’s an awesome track, with a lot of surprising things and such a power in it. Syzz and ANG managed to mix their two styles, and they succeeded. The only regret I have is with the build-up, its main synth is so huge that I wish we could hear it for a longer period. Congrats to them anyway!
