What a nice tune by Joshua Francois!
The Canadian artist, with “Pika”, impress me with a lovely future bass track!
During this review, I will usually compare his production with Marshmello’s music, because that’s the main connection I’ve found.
First, I need to underline that Joshua Francois, even if at first you can think differently, managed to put a lot of his personality inside “Pika”. I loved especially the “Pokemon-themed” idea, being a huge fan of the games, but the sweetness of the overall result is awesome too!
“Pika” is somehow between an electrical track, full of energy and magnetism, but it has a soft and calm bassline in the drop, and the rhythm is chilly… Exactly as a Pikachu, both energetic and cute!
So, I must say that the title perfectly summarizes the song. Awesome idea!
In the break, the main elements are the vocal chops, surely!
Sure, you may start thinking “Meh… Marshmello did the same”… No!
Joshua, creatively, put more effort in the base, which is really relaxing in my opinion, composed by a catchy synth. The vocal chops disappear in the drop, where all the energy has been released. Emotional and passionate, I loved its energy.
My “cherry on the top”?
The pre-drop vocal! I loved that “Pikah!” before the first main lead arrives. Sweet and creative solution!
“Pika” is a super track, I’m really satisfied! I hope you will like it as much as I did!
