The Indian group Èmpiirates surprised me today with a lovely song, “Dove”.
In this review, pretty special, I won’t consider the technical quality of the track (which is in a medium level), but the idea itself, since I really care about it.
The genre is “future progressive”, an interesting hybrid between future bass and progressive house… And that’s the most important element of a song!
Even if those producers have to improve some details, this style fascinated me. It’s sweet and emotional, but still melodic and energetic. The overall impression is peaceful, symbolized by the dove, a symbol of peace.
The melody is quite catchy, and the lead, even if it’s slightly generic, has been used in a clever way. The artists speeded the future bass lead up, making it progressive, and that’s the genial choice! They reworked something generic in a new genre, and the clash between uncreative and creative is what it makes “Dove” absolutely interesting!
