84/100

• Groovy and creative tune
• Elegant and well-chosen samples
• Swinging bass and drums, adding the right dynamism

When I first heard about groove some years ago, I thought that it was a boring genre. Please don’t judge me, I was starting to listen to electronic music at that time and I only focused on big room tracks. A year or two later, I realized how stupid I was doing so, because then I wouldn’t be able to enjoy little gems like this.

“El Pescador” is an amazing track created by Fran Gomez and The Dirty Playerz, sampling Sonora Dinamita’s “Virgen De La Candelaria“.

After the typical one minute intro, the vocal starts playing, together with the usual cumbia bass, some guitars and groovy percussions. Even if you hardly ever listen to music, you can feel instantly the Latin vibe in every part of “El Pescador”, which is really enjoyable.

Some risers warn us that something new is coming, and as expected a powerful kick takes its place at the beginning of the drop. Some trumpets and crazy shouts accompany us during this part, while the percussion and the cumbia bass never stop playing in all the song.

This is a gem for groove lovers, and I’m pretty sure that the artists deserve more success and recognition because of their great job. I really encourage you to listen to “El Pescador”, but be careful, because you’ll instantly want to dance!
