KSHMR & 7 Skies – Neverland

85/100

• Excellent sound design, intriguing idea
• Bouncy drop, perfect for festivals
• Hypnotic breakdown, thanks to the sample used

It feels good to see 7 Skies collaborating with KSHMR. This extremely underrated Italian artist must deserve some appreciation, working behind the curtains of the EDM scene most of the time.

KSHMR is one of the best in finding new talents, but, for this round, we must thank Marnik. In fact, the Italian duo has worked with 7 Skies years ago for “DGAF“, a real banger that immediately impressed us. It’s likely that the two artists meet because of them. Another nice tune of the producer is the collaboration with Alpharock, more progressive oriented. KSHMR (why are we even saying that) doesn’t need introductions.

“Everland” is a pure spectacle. Mysterious vocal, intriguing breakdown, bouncy first drop and a fantastic second drop. A bit of Marnik’s influence is present here, it may remind you “Bazaar” and “Shiva”, their collabs with KSHMR.

The whistle in the breakdown is genial, the right element to infuse catchiness since the first instant. “Neverland”, in fact, focuses on being a festival smasher with a frenetic melody, a pinch of psytrance in the bassline, and tons of personality. A calm vocal is firstly supported by a funky guitar, then switches to an ethnic KSHMR loop that brings up to the drop.

We must admit that the transitions are a bit harsh, but every problem flies away with the second drop. What a powerful and unpredictable surprise. The bouncy bassline is accompanied by a clamorous system of percussions, making every hypothetical crowd crazy. The live reactions, in fact, are insane!

We are really satisfied with this new Dharma release. We have missed bouncy KSHMR!
