• Combo: 20/100
• Saxofunk: 77/100

Another intriguing ADE EP that we discovered is the one released by Fonk Records. Dannic’s label wasn’t in a good situation last year, but the acquisition by Spinnin’ helped it in reaching more fans, and the quality came back to normal levels. A good demonstration of this affirmation is the ADE Sampler, which shows a collection of talented artists, including a Dannic release. The creativity and the innovative there included there fascinated us. Let’s explore it!

Dannic teamed up with the duo HunterSynth, already discovered by us some months ago, and delivered a catchy tune called “Higher“. We particularly appreciated how the tribal vibes of HunterSynth show their presence, then the Dannic influence slowly takes the command. Pretty tune.

Then, Crime Zcene delivered a creative production, “Tribal”. Honestly, the title is a bit misleading for us, because the elegance and the delicate vocal of the breakdown are far away from the tribal genre… Slightly monotonous drop, but a good idea, overall.

“Alive” by Boothed and Antoine Delvig is another little surprise of the selection. A rather slow breakdown introduced to a crazy unexpected drop. Innovation at its finest, we prefer avoiding spoilers. You must check it.

Noticing the presence of the crazy Danny Ores there was another good surprise! Created in collaboration with Bora, “Trippin” does exactly what its title suggests: make you enter a trance state, where the signature reggaeish vocal editing perfectly fuses with hypnotic percussions.

After the anonymous track by Loax (similar to some of his CELL releases), Dave Crusher dropped a fresh Electro house banger together with Drop Department (who made an interview some time ago with The QR Network). “Saxofunk” delighted us with a gorgeous vocal and a bassline that drilled my ears in an enjoyable way.

This concludes the Fonk ADE EP review. Creative sampler, except for a disappointing song, but definitely suggested.
