We have had a hard time with Revealed ADE Samplers’ in recent years with a lot of heavy debate between our team. I can still remember my boredom at the ten similar big room tracks in 2017. Anyway, the 2019 EP took many steps forwards from the previous editions, presenting a wide variety of EDM genres, all fitting well with Hardwell’s imprint. All except for “Vibe“, a fish out of water, and in fact, it’s our least liked tune.

That’s, in short, a satisfying collection. There are established talents, a couple of new, creative names, and tons of fresh ideas. The only thing we missed was a pure, big room banger like Maddix or Olly James style or perhaps a nice hardstyle track. Another thing we would have liked to have seen was something from a minor talent like Cytrax and substitute one of his forward-thinking tracks for the progressive ones we got in the sampler. Looking over the ten tracks in the compilation, some are forgettable but the production quality in all of them was consistently high.

Wildvibes & Patrick Key ft. Stine Kristiansen – Love Again
85/100

We have much progressive house in the sampler but this one shines far above the rest! Featuring the soft vocals of Stine Kristiansen, Wildvibes has created a gem. The initial melody, with a pinch of guitar plucks, makes the atmosphere of “Love Again” incredibly unique. The soulful lyrics are perfectly matched with progressive piano chords while the guitar riffs infuse this track with festival energy. The powerful drop in the end from Wildvibes and Patrick Key take things to a whole new level, convincing us to assign a generous rating.

Blackcode & 9Lives ft. Heleen – Way Back home
84/100

Blackcode is on fire lately, back again on Revealed with his typical elegant progressive. “Way Back Home” has an epic melodic structure with sweet vocals and a synth drifting over the beat that made us crazy. The ambient atmosphere has been gifted with soft vocals before the lively drop. The latter is an expected progressive hallmark, featuring a subtle old-school touch in the main lead and an overall cleanness that is simply astonishing. The melody doesn’t particularly entice us compared to other tracks, but saying that it’s ineffective would be a lie. In addition, the guitar used in that section makes the atmosphere feel very organic and alive. Great job by Blackcode, 9Lives and Heleen!

Saberz – Take on the World

We truly enjoyed this SaberZ banger that features their signature euphoric big room vibes taken at an outstanding technical level. The duo shows off their technical muscles here, creating a brutal and enjoyable composition. “Take on the World” begins with the sample pack vocal from Karra (which we feel might be a bit overused at this point) and uses that melody to lead into their signature breakdown style. The drop builds on the more minimalistic style SaberZ utilized in their solo Revealed EP. As far as their melodies, this one is one of their simpler ones but the simplicity lends itself to some really explosive moments. After the drop fizzles out, the second breakdown introduces some pleasant vocoder work to switch things up from the first half. The subtle hardstyle kicks where a fantastic and unique touch which really gives the song a sense of progression leading up to the second drop. We were sad to see that the second drop did not build on that momentum and settled for copy and pasting the drop from the first half. At any rate, big room trance is an important component of Revealed’s image and the label called in their best to show that.

Wasback & Declain ft. SNAYPOR- Apocalypto

To sum up this track, Wasback and Declain have created something quite enjoyable with “Apocalypto.” (We were suprised when we saw this name in the teaser as Revealed released another song titled “Apocalypto” just three months ago!) The pair doesn’t take too many risks here, settling on blending the glimmering leads in the drop from Wasback’s old track on the 2016 Revealed ADE Samper, “Magic” and pairing them with Declains breakdown reminiscent of “Stop It All”. The melody is maintained throughout the entire track with a pause in the second break for the vocals to shine through. It’s hard to say exactly what exactly SNAYPOR contributed with his “featuring” credit, but it seems like he’s been producing for the better part of five years, so congratulations to him for making his Revealed debut.

Vargenta & Son & Warren ft. Arild Aas – When It’s Over
76/100

With a delicate atmosphere and mesmerizing lyrics, “When It’s Over” represents a solid pillar of the sampler. The quality structure of lead stands out in the amazing drop, which features a catchy melodic structure. The group of producers plays around with the booming voice of Arild Aas, giving us a notable captivating sensation! Vargenta, Son and Warren have found a very catchy melody, and used it for the whole duration, managing to make “When It’s Over” sound fresh and attractive for the progressive house lovers!
