• Playful schema with enhanced brutalism

First of all, this might be my final review before onset of the vacation, so I hope you all are enjoying the last vestiges of summer (or winter, if you are from down under). Anyways, if planning for a sojourn, might I introduce you to a new EP from Never Say Die imprint, which merged with Black Label some time ago. This one’s from an up and coming euphorian, aptly titled “youth”.

“flower”, today’s focus, takes the edge with an atmospheric cadence that uses the usual trap sounds to create a sort of aesthetic mood, accompanied by a cheerful riff (honourable mention to the “Looney Tunes” theme). The build-up is delicate, indicating the song has a softer commence that amounts to the true and initially disguised power latent in the successive drops.

Alright, wow. The drop’s melody is glitchy and intense, with dazzling and loud kicks going alongside multiple change with FXs, ranging from ups and downs in the groove to bobbling snares and more. It is a very experimenting section, further presenting a mystic aura around itself. In the following one, there is a more Future Bass setting, trading the Dubstep elements aside to give space to more slower but equally contorting than the former one. Thus as you see, there’s an excellent hybrid of genres offered that will please many fans.

The mentioned youngster did an adequate work with “flower”, a potent mix that blurs the line between Trap-Dubstep with Future Bass components, and by far, is one of the most promising releases from Never Say Die this year.
