In a world where live music festivals have gone extinct, reputed imprint Glow Records decided to take the risk and present a five track EP. Consisting of regulars like Wyko, Sixcap and Zanny Duko, this also hosts unheard but promising names like D2J, SE3K and LinX. Surely this compilation will please most expectations of festival music devotees, and hopefully, not the last one we get before the warmer season fades away.
Jayden Vega, Dropper Vampire & Jet Zeith – N.O.V.A
77/100
“Galactic EP” begins with strutting intensity, with a bit of Big Room Trance that has officially become a trend among producers. Textbook elements aside, the renewed sound impressed me. The vocals give an amazing mood to the old-school drop. A strong opener of the bunch, packed in a refreshing formula!
LinX & Zanny Duko – The Future
79/100
Wanted more of that Big Room Trance, don’t you? Well, LinX and Zanny Duko fulfilled that wish by managing to create another festival oriented tune drawing parallels to 2016’s W&W. The structure might be a classic one with not much innovations, yet it is time-tested and holds up to please the core fans of the genre. Highly recommended if you’re want this sort of experience!
NADEJ & KECI – Save Me
73/100
More of that Big Room for you! This time, “Save Me” tucks a little surprise with it: Arabic influences. Without much context, NADEJ and KECI embedded this ethnic mood to the hook, and while it is fabulous, it doesn’t affect the rest of the composition. Nevertheless, I was waiting for similarly inspired productions, and this track sticks to the boundaries and delivers a brutal drop on the ears.
SE3K & Marc Blou – Time Warp
86/100
“Time Warp”, in its essence, is an NWYR (W&W’s side alias) motivated work with a vigorous drop laden with Trance elements and dominating kicks. SE3K and Marc Blou worked out an imposing, non-stop and catchy rhythm and an esoteric vocal. In fact, the riff is so grandiose that there are some Disco vibes which I instantly felt in love with, in spite of the song being raucous to some extents. The following drop is simply fantastic, leaving me with no words but to applaud on the ingenuity!
D2J, Wyko & Sixcap – Matysa
85/100
The first feature of this EP made by reputed names in the industry, along with the newcomer D2J. “Matysa” is a stunner of a Psy-Trance record with allegiance to older Electro House. The introductory drop does its job efficiently, as the second one comes off as more playful and entertaining. Great ethnic flavour and a well-constructed Indian ambience that supports an almost perfect build-up. Fitting conclusion for this EP!
