Internet, despite being a source of negativity at times, has its own niche of wholesome and motivating posts. The other day, while scrolling through Instagram, I stumbled on something truly inspiring to great ends.
Calvin Harris is an icon in the Electronic music scene, there is no denying that. This Friday he posted a snap of a letter he received more than two decades ago in 1999, from the famed label Defected Records. Content of this was a courteous rejection of a demo he sent, with constructive feedback encouraging him to keep in touch with them. And so he did, with the Scottish star having his very first entrée number in the label this year!

Simon Dunmore, who founded the esteemed British imprint expressed his surprise on how much the aforementioned solo act has achieved over the years, but the circle of life finally lead to this massive debut by him, which unveiled this Friday! You can read the whole story on Defected Record site.
My point then? Success is never overnight.
To all producers and creators alike, who are putting all their might but perhaps are deterred and uninspired by the competition in this industry, never dismiss the fact what future holds for you!
