RMCM & David Shane – Never Let You Down

July 25, 20192 min read

• Charismatic vocal performance by David Shane
• Nostalgic powerful melodies to signify the golden era aka 2015
• Happy and positive atmosphere

David Shane’s rise as vocalist this year has been an ongoing trend especially in the melodic side of electronic music, progressive house to be specific, singing in songs produced by Manse, Olly James, Trilane, R3SPAWN, BlackCode, WildVibes… and RMCM. Speaking of RMCM, the couple teamed up yet again for another melodic belter!
However, this time the Irish-Japanese producer stepped outside the community section of Revealed (focused on minor talents) and straight hit the main label. This is a great result and, being honest, we were expecting that. RMCM has the talent for becoming another Revealed pupil, after his dose of “training” via Revealed.dj, just like Steven Vegas, and this release can signify that he’s ready for the adventure.

After some of his successful releases on Dharma & NCS, collaborations with Wasback, 22Bullets, R3SPAWN, showcasing his diversity in producing music, “Never Let You Down” shows a different, solo side of RMCM. The producer kicks in all the melodies to give a tasty resemblance of what EDM was like around half a decade ago! This can be a perception from the lyrics David Shane sung in this song backed up with some powerful melodic drops to signify that Progressive Golden Era for many listeners out there. I found a couple of analogies with Manse, in particular.

A detail that particularly amazed me is how RMCM incorporated David Shane’s voice in every section of the track. Intro, outro, break, drop, Shane’s great vocal has been utilized as much as possible.

Overall a happy song like “Never Let You Down”, bringing up a small nostalgia, could mean a lot for some longtime electronic fans which can bring in a variety of reactions and is a step up to the new millenials who just jumped into the scene. This track clearly shows us that RMCM and David Shane will Never Let YOU Down with what is forthcoming.
