Cuebrick – Wonderful Days

January 7, 20192 min read

• Absolutely alluring
• Vintage schematics
• Embedded hypnotic elements

The onset of 2019 has already brought along unique music with itself to talk about. Today, we will be talking about an alluring and energetic production from the leading German act Cuebrick. Named as “Wonderful Days“, the combination of cheery vocal and vibrant instrumental makes it absolutely worthwhile to listen.

Previous year, we saw Cuebrick remain active throughout the year, releasing some solid remixes for likes of Tritonal and melodic instrumentals to add the cherry on the cake. His most recent collaboration, along with native luminary Jochen Miller. Titled as “With You“, the Maxximize release was a rushing progressive house with distinctive groovy synth-line. We were also equally impressed with “Highlands“, a track which we discussed a few months ago. Filled with atmospheric breakdown and vigorous drop to fulfil it, the record was certainly proficiently crafted.

Now, let us return to our point. Why ninety plus on this single? We won’t start patronizing the song until we justify with an answer. Our thought process during writing any review, is how emotional a song is. It further pleases our ears when it has a certain nostalgic ring to it. This is what exactly we got from this particular piece of music. Taking inspiration from the days of “Hands Up” (A commercial sub-genre of Trance, popular in noughties), it even gets better with a hypnotic and pitched vocal. The instrumental proceeds with equal colours, as the drop segment unleashes the climax. Especially the melody, not only caught attention but made sure to entrance! The 8-bit nostalgic atmosphere, in addition, is pure goosebumps material.

In short, “Wonderful Days” is a top-class work from this artist, definitely not to be either skipped or missed!
