Psy Trance and Bounce are just like pizza and beer: they fit well together. Timmy Trumpet, for example, switches between the two genres continuously. The basslines are quite similar; the structure is compatible, the wild energy emanated is comparable. However, we don’t see a high number of collaborations between Psy and Bounce artists. That’s why we decided to envisage a great partnership and make you conceive how it would be like to see Will Sparks and Vini Vici working together.
“Agni” takes inspiration from the Hindi culture, a typical move by Vini Vici. Ethnic vocals, in a hypnotic loop, accompanies a minimalistic system of percussions and a Will Sparks aggressive lead. We guess that there will be a surprising buildup, something capable of adding sufficient climax which will suddenly stop thus leaving space for the signature psytrance bassline combined with a crazy bouncy melody by Will Sparks. We are also expecting a pinch of hard kicks in the second drop, why not. The creativity of those producers will have sparkling results! The word “Agni” means fire in Sanskrit and connotes the Vedic fire God of Hinduism, thus fulfilling the Indian-Psy relationship along with a vivid description of the track’s demeanour.
Those two genres have great potential together. This time, contrary to the previous “WHAT IF?” articles, “Agni” is not an unlikely collaboration, but something that could easily happen in the future. And when (and if) it will happen, we will be back here, reading our predictions and checking if our guesses were right.
