Ido is a not-so-well-known chill producer whose artistic expression is quite difficult to rate or analyze since – according to Spotify – most of his discography is made of super minimal ambient tracks, some of them reaching the length of 40 minutes…
Alright, I guess? He/she still has more Spotify followers than most of our readers. Forget about small details, such as who actually contributed to the song.
Ido stays true to the sexy vibe of his minimal productions and holds me captivated in a sinister chill house record, more fit for Majestic Casual than for anything else to be honest.
“Exhale” certainly has its personality as a song. A really mysterious personality. A pitched, semi-psychedelic vocal, brings all the elements of the 3-minutes song together such as the Dharma-ish, simple melody and some generic lyrics about making out with someone.
The drop is quite exceptional. Hard to distinguish whether it’s chill trap or chill house, it’s a nice combination of both. It might turn some heads, but it definitely calms some nerves down.
“Exhale” has its charm. It’s certainly not going to find a spot in the major festival’s closing sets, but it’s safe to give it a shot in a calm, beach-inspired playlist for the ending summer.
